I just returned from the "Distinguished Fulbright in Teaching" orientation in Washington, DC. It was an honor and a privilege to be in a room full of fellow educators who are passionate about learning. Oftentimes I attend "professional development" with people who begrudgingly have to share the same space and time.
In DC this was not the case. Each of the 2010-2011 Fulbright participants is a visionary adventurer. It is exciting to learn from others: it is even better to be able to teach others. I happily did both for four days.
Above is a picture of these great people on the steps of the US Capitol. We are all embarking on an adventure, indeed, the best adventure of all: self-actualization.

I will be in Sheffield, UK in less than two weeks and have a good understanding of the parameters of my research project. I am ready to learn!
